Peter Melhado was appointed Chairman of WIHCON on November 11, 2004 less than a year after joining the ICD Group as President and COO.
He is a graduate of McGill University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds a MBA from Columbia University.
Peter’s working career began with Kier International where he worked for 3 years as a project engineer and project manager where he gained valuable knowledge about the construction industry. From there he moved on to the manufacturing field at Desnoes and Geddes and has spent the last 11 years in finance and banking.
His experience in all three spheres of business has been a tremendous assistance to WIHCON. The company is both a manufacturing and construction firm and his banking knowledge has proven invaluable.
Managing Director
Delroy Alcott's association with West Indies Home Contractors began in March 2005. He brings a vast amount of construction expertise to WIHCON having worked in various areas of the industry for over 20 years both in Jamaica and abroad, the greater part with one of the world’s top 100 building and civil engineering contractors.He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Building (Engineering) from the University of Coventry (U.K.), a Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto (Canada) and a Masters of Business Administration, from the University of the West Indies (Mona). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (UK) and a registered professional engineer.For several years, he also lectured at the University of Technology in the faculty of the Built Environment.
Administration Manager
Judith joined WIHCON in 1991 upon her return to Jamaica having lived overseas for 10 years. She was employed to assist the sales department at the start of the Greater Portmore Project with the coordination of customer service and public relations. Over the fifteen years at WIHCON she has retained the Public Relations portfolio while assuming the role of Administration Manager and the management of Human Resources matters.
Chief Engineer
Aisha was employed to West Indies Home Contractors on September 1, 2000 as a Civil Engineer working in the Engineering Department. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) with First Class Honours. She worked in the capacity of Civil Engineer for a year, resigned and went on to further her education. She re-joined WIHCON in March, 2003 upon completion of her Masters in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA. She was appointed Chief Engineer in 2005 and oversees all the operations of the Engineering Department.
Chief Financial Officer
Harshad Anaokar joined West Indies Home Contractors in December 2008 as the Chief Financial Officer. A native of india he has worked in Jamaica since 2002 as the General Manager of Finance with a large retail duty free company.
He is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from Mumbai University in India.
With Sixteen years of experience as a chartered accountant and ten of those years as the head of Finance and Accounts in retail and manufacturing businesses, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in financial management, strategic planning and implementing efficient and effective integrated systems.
